Dr. Miriam Weismann

Miriam F. Weismann, JD, LLM, is a legal scholar, educator, and former federal prosecutor whose career has been dedicated to advancing ethical leadership, accountability, and responsible governance. With decades of experience spanning law, public service, business education, and academic research, she brings a unique perspective on the intersection of ethics, regulation, and organizational decision-making. Her work reflects a deep commitment to helping leaders navigate complexity with integrity while balancing legal, financial, and societal responsibilities.

Before entering academia, Professor Weismann practiced law for nearly thirty years, serving as a capital partner in a national law firm, an Assistant United States Attorney, and later as the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois following her appointment by President George W. Bush. Throughout her distinguished legal career, she led investigations and prosecutions involving public corruption, corporate misconduct, securities fraud, organized crime, and major national cases. Today, as a Clinical Professor of Business Law and Tax and Academic Director of the Healthcare MBA program at Florida International University, she continues to explore issues of corporate governance, legal ethics, financial fraud, taxation, healthcare policy, and the responsible use of emerging technologies. Her scholarship has been published in leading academic journals, and her books on corporate crime, financial fraud, and regulatory enforcement have become important resources for practitioners, policymakers, and scholars worldwide.

As a member of the Ethics Advisory Board at The Mana College, Professor Weismann helps guide the College’s commitment to developing leaders who understand that ethical responsibility and organizational success are inseparable. Drawing upon her extensive experience in law, governance, and public service, she provides insight into the complex ethical challenges facing modern organizations and societies. She believes that leadership is ultimately measured not only by outcomes, but by the principles that guide decision-making. Through her service and mentorship, she supports The Mana College’s mission of cultivating leaders who act with integrity, exercise sound judgment, and create lasting value for their organizations, communities, and the broader world.
